Be Curious

Wednesday Wisdom
We’re remarkably good at forming opinions with very little information. Sometimes all it takes is a sentence, a photograph, or the way somebody loads the dishwasher.
Curiosity asks us to pause long enough to learn a little more.
Why does that person see things differently? What experience shaped that opinion? What might we have missed?
You can hold firm convictions and still ask thoughtful questions. You can disagree with someone and still listen to the answer.
The next time you catch yourself making a quick judgment, try replacing it with a question.
You might learn something about the other person. You might learn something about yourself. Either way, the conversation has a better chance of going somewhere.
What makes you curious?
